## Executive Summary

Thinkst Canary is a deliberately simple deception product whose decoy machines and tripwire tokens stay quiet until an intruder touches one, then raise a breach alert. The mechanic is easy to reproduce, Thinkst says its sensors collect no sensitive environment data, and a 2019 Forrester post argued deception belongs folded into another product, so on technology alone the standalone product is exposed. Its staying power is commercial. Bootstrapped to a reported $20 million in recurring revenue with about 40 staff as of May 2025, Thinkst keeps 60 percent of early customers and runs a word-of-mouth motion, and founder Haroon Meer's standing in the security community is a reputation a bundling rival cannot buy quickly.
