## Executive Summary

The strongest thing Mend.io owns is the part it no longer leads with. Mend publishes a transparent rate card, up to 1,000 dollars per developer per year for its application security platform, rather than keeping pricing behind a sales call, and that older code-security business is what an enterprise cannot cheaply swap out. The AI line Mend foregrounds, discovery, red teaming, and prompt hardening, is the part a platform vendor could most readily bundle. Mend's official pages tell two stories about runtime: the homepage markets runtime guardrails that enforce policy in production, while the Mend AI page says those in-app guardrails are still being developed. A buyer drawn by the AI story should confirm what ships today on a business rebranded from WhiteSource in 2022.
