Collibra delivers governance as a cloud platform the customer operates as its own register. The platform records where data came from, enforces policy and keeps an audit trail across the assets it inventories, so what the customer buys is continuous control rather than a one-time scan.

Integrations carry much of the delivery surface. The Collibra Marketplace lists partner integrations, community offerings and workflows for the platform, and the Databricks and Snowflake integrations run in both directions, pushing governed definitions out and harvesting technical metadata and records of origin back.

Agent supervision is the least proven part of the delivery. ### Earning Customers' Trust

The assurance a buyer can check independently is the federal one. The FedRAMP marketplace lists Collibra Platform for Government as certified since November 2019 at the moderate class, assessed annually by Schellman Compliance, with nine live agency authorization letters.

The commercial trust center lists the rest: SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 42001, ITAR, HIPAA and TISAX, over a control framework drawing on COSO, COBIT, NIST, GDPR and CCPA. The page lists ISO 42001 for AI management systems and publishes no certificate scope, so a buyer evaluating the agent supervision product cannot tell from it what is covered.

The public record also shows the platform under outside security scrutiny. ### Platform Strategy & Ecosystem Positioning

Collibra positions itself as the governance layer across clouds rather than a feature inside one, and the Collibra Marketplace of partner integrations and community offerings is how that layer reaches the tools holding enterprise data.

Databricks and Snowflake are both partners and potential rivals. Databricks named Collibra its Governance Partner of the Year in June 2026 and built a two-way link with Unity Catalog; Snowflake takes Collibra's business context into Horizon Catalog, Cortex Analyst and Cortex Agents and sends technical metadata back. Each of them runs the catalog Collibra is enriching, which is the bundling exposure stated plainly.

The bet is that governance consolidates on one neutral layer. ### Team & Execution Capability

Collibra's founders carry a documented long build in this domain. Felix Van de Maele has led the company for more than ten years and was named EY Technology Entrepreneur of the Year in New York in 2019, and Stijn Christiaens remains as Chief Data Citizen.

Parts of that story are documented outside Collibra's own pages. A still-active US patent on ontology engineering, with a 2009 priority date, names Van de Maele and Christiaens among its five inventors, with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel as a co-assignee, and North Data's listing keyed to the Belgian enterprise number dates the registration to 2008. Their founder roles come from Collibra's leadership page. The company reached a 5.25 billion dollar valuation in its 2021 round, led by Sequoia Capital Global Equities and Sofina.

The executive bench has changed recently. Chirag Dhull joined as chief marketing officer in 2026 from Chainlink Labs, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, and Kirk Haslbeck arrived in 2021 through Collibra's purchase of the data quality company he founded.
